  • Boley Centers on Broadway!

    The Boley Centers in St. Petersburg, FL is a center for adults with cognitive impairments and learning disabilities. Destination Theatre is partnering with the Boley Centers to put on a production of Legally Blonde, Jr. The adults at the Boley Center will be the actors in the show performing alongside professional actors (who will also serve as teaching artists/production staff) from Destination Theatre.

    Compensation: $450/week. Housing is provided. $200 travel stipend. Access to a company vehicle for the duration of the project.

    Rehearsals: April 29 - May 29; day time hours

    Performances: May 30 at 2 and 7:30pm & May 31 at 7:30pm

    Location: St. Petersburg, FL

    DT Summer Camps

    Destination Theatre is proud to partner with youth organizations across the country to provide high-quality and engaging theatre education opportunities.

    Compensation: $400-500/week + Housing/Travel for non-local teachers.

    Dates: Camp runs from June 3-July 26.

    Location: Destination Theatre teaches nationally, but we are always looking for artists who can work locally in the following locations: Atlanta, GA; Lansing, MI; Nuavoo, AL; and St. Petersburg, Florida.

    Positions Available: Camp Director, Acing Teacher, Music Teacher/Accompanist, Dance Teacher, Tech Teacher, Counselor, All-Ability Buddy

  • Destination Theatre believes in fully preparing and equipping teaching artists to most effectively relate to and communicate with our students.

    We ask that all teachers fulfill the following:

    -Create a classroom culture where students feel supported to try and fail and try again.

    -Approach students with curiosity and a desire to find the most effective way to communicate new information.

    -Follow the provided curriculum, to create engaging, age-appropriate lesson plans.

    -Adhere to Destination Theatre’s equity, diversity, and inclusion policies and create classroom rules that support these policies and beliefs.

    -As applicable, collaborate with your co-teachers. Incorporate teaching assistants and interns in appropriate ways, capitalizing on their skill sets.

    -Be fully prepared to begin classes and camps at the designated start time.

    -Attend all required trainings, meetings, and staff check-ins.

    -Communicate clearly with your Project Manager or Camp Director, as needed.

  • Applicant Requirements:

    Camp Directors/Teachers - 2+ years of teaching experience and 5+ years of applicable professional experience as a performer, musician, or technician.

    Counselors - 1 year of teaching/classroom experience + 2 years of educational or professional theatre experience.
