Boley Centers on Broadway - Lighting Designer

Lauren K.O. Dixon is a 2021 Spelman College graduate, with a degree in Innovative Design for Production and Live Events, with a concentration in Lighting Design and a minor in Educational Studies. She works as the Executive Assistant for BlackLight Production Inc. and during her undergraduate experience, she started her own freelance lighting design and consulting company, KnockOut Designs. Additionally, throughout her High school years Lauren was heavily immersed in creating equitable opportunities for differently-abled students in addition to working summers at her local Autism center. Lauren believes art, theater and production are necessary tools for all students to feel safe to express their needs and desires. Miss Dixon is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. Lauren has just completed her first year of a fully-funded MFA in Lighting Design at Carnegie Mellon University and she strives to “Light the Way” for aspiring Black Women Designers everywhere!
