Cory Phelps

Artistic Director/Co-Founder

Cory is an actor, director, teaching artist, and arts administrator. He has worked professionally throughout Atlanta, the southeast region, as well as New York City and South Africa. You may have seen some of his work throughout the Atlanta theatre scene as well as the New York Musical Theatre Festival, BroadwayCon and more. He has worked with some of Broadway's and TV's top talent such as Drew Starkey (Netflix's Outerbanks), David Alpert (If/Then), Alex Brightman (School of Rock), Tyler McKenzie (Hamilton), Ann Hirata (Avenue Q), Anthony Rapp (Rent), Terrence Mann (Pippin), Charlotte D'Ambois (A Chorus Line), and more.

He also owns a film production company, Up the Hill Productions, where he produces short films and promo videos which have been featured in festivals throughout the southeast. Cory, formerly a Director of Education, built a theatre education program to serve over 13,000 students. He has taught kindergarteners through university students (and even senior citizens!). He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre Performance from Western Carolina University. He hopes Destination Theatre can broaden the place for art in your heart.
